i had my baby on the 25th of April and i have a second degree tear (really don't want to know the details! I know its bad, though!) because i got stitches. I was given the option for Percs or Motrin 800 mg. in the hospital. I took the Percs a few times I was told to manage the pain with 800 mg of Motrin at home. Its a week after delivery, and Im actually in more pain now than directly post-partum. Sitting kills (they didn't give me special instructions or a pillow to sit on or anything) and on almost every surface i place my bottom on im in PAIN , and just in general- Im sore down there it hurts and it kinda stings on a constant basis. Anyway....I was also wondering if its normal to feel more pain later, rather than directly afterwards.
@santanarose_, awww man that sucks, I'm sorry I hope you find some relief
I had 4th degree tearing and a second degree episiotomy (baby was stuck and once he got free he came rather quickly lol) the Dermoplast literally saved me. I used it after every time I went to the bathroom if not before so it didn't hurt when I went. They probably gave you the squirt bottle thing too, if you put colder water in it it numbs it for awhile and that also helped. Also try to move as much as you can without overdoing it. It will help with you being sore.
its some spray at wallgreens or rite aid maybe even be at Walmart but its for down there stitches I used it with my daughter an it made the healing process so much better it stings when you first spray it but its worth it, also take a squeeze bottle of warm water and every time you use the bathroom rinse with the squeeze bottle before you spray that helped my pain a lot I also tore with my daughter
@motheroftwojk, thanks hun
