It's totally normal for babies to get out more then the pump. You're doing a great job momma!

@arivera64, thanks I will try next time I feed. @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom & thank you for that. I do what I can with the breast pump but then it blows the whole feeding off. Ftm here do I'm doing my best.

Unless you have a medical reason to do so, it's not recommended to pump in the first 6 weeks after delivery because your body is still trying to establish supply so you may end up with an over supply, which sounds awesome, but it's not because then you can get engorged and that's painful.

I would definitely stick with strictly breastfeeding for at LEAST the first 6 weeks to establish supply, a pump is NEVER as good as the baby is at extracting milk, they have amazing sucking power and not only that, when they have contact with you there are hormones being released like prolactin and oxytocin that help with supply and help the milk "let down". It's also better for the baby because if they can communicate with your body through your breasts, then the milk can actually CHANGE to meet their needs! This is because when the baby latches and sucks, there is a sort of backwash of saliva that enters the breast, where it is analysed and changed based on what they need, like more antibodies and whatnot...it's really amazing what they can do when they are allowed to just breastfeed normally! And don't worry about how many ounces they are drinking, if they nurse at the breast, as long as they are peeing 5 to 6 times or more every 24 hours, you know they are getting enough! That, plus weight gain of course! Which is checked at doctor visits, which is all that's needed 😉
