what is the best amout of time to continue to breastfeed? i was thinking 1 1/2 years..i just want to…

the world average is 4 yrs, the us average is less than a year. most of the time they will wean themselves if you let them.

@mrs.rcleveland, I breastfed my oldest until 2. I plan on breastfeeding this one maybe a little past the first year because I work so much now :( I think it depends on the baby. My son was so attached I exclusively bf him, Emma on the other hand has bottles while im at work, she wouldn't miss the boob too much..

@stefaniamarie, this is my first i do work alot like u so id be breastfeeding when im home and pump so she will have breastmilk while im working

@mrs.rcleveland, yes it's a lot more work! I think after a year i will stop pumping and maybe still breastfeed for comfort when I'm home.

I'm planning on a year and then letting him decide when he is done. I imagine on morning/bedtime feedings after 1 year though
