I'm planning on going back to work probably next week even though I initially wanted to stay home until June. if anyone could comment and just tell me their experience of what it's like going back to work and pumping? for one, I'm really really anxious about leaving my baby. and two I'm worried I won't produce enough milk all of a sudden. anything helps, I just need support and advice really bad!!

going back to work is hard no matter what. you'll miss baby & pumping is a hassle until you learn how. my mistake when I went back was not pumping every 4 hours. my supply did drop a little but as long as you feed on demand at home & pump when you need to you'll be fine. once I started doing that I'm fine now. my son was born in October & I've been back to work since December. I've been exclusively bf for 7 months. when you pump at work it's a good idea to have a picture or video or something that smells like baby. that will help with let down.

I work as a server and have been working only two nights a week but pumping has been ridiculously hard to do there. I have a over supply of milk so when I don't have him to feed I need to pump every 3 hours or more. I still have to pump at home even with feeding him. First they said I could pump in the car, bad idea. Then they said pump in this banquet room "nobody will come in there" and the doors don't even lock btw. 4 people walked in on me. Need I also say it's 200 degrees in that damn room and I already get super dehydrated feeling when I pump. Sooo it's been rough, and it's hard to leave him for any length of time because he'll start crying bc he wants me. 😕 he's three months old on the 4th!
