it's gonna be a long night! my 5 year old keeps waking up with a toothache! taking him to the ER in the morning since we can't get into the dentist until next week. anyone know of anything I can give him? been doing a pain reliever, baby orajel, been rinsing with warm salt water & a cold pack on his cheek. hate seeing him in pain!
we were in the ER from 1am-3am & they didn't do anything for him :( @ella1007
I would take him to the ER and they will probably give him antibiotics until you can see the dentist
no on call. his tooth isn't oozing but does have like a metallic smell to it @ella1007
Usually if it's infected it will be swollen and sometimes ooze. It's hard to tell without having a dentist check it out. Does your dentist not have an on call number?
been giving him pain meds. helps for a few hours then it wears off I guess. same with the baby orajel @jessgnov
tysm. idk what else to do. I just hate seeing him in so much pain. I am def taking him to the ER in the morning. hopefully they can give him antibiotics or something that will help until we can get into the dentist. @ella1007
yes @ella1007 is rigth that's the best you can do and give him hugs and kisses too
I work in dentistry and you are doing everything you can do. If Tylenol, oragel and warm salt water isn't helping nothing will that you can do. He may need antibiotics if it's infected
I heard that too but don't think I can give that to my 5 year old thanks tho! @jessgnov
That's terrible! I work at the university of ky so they do things different. I can't believe they did nothing and the dentist doesn't have an emergency number ugh
