@lindsey89, Hey , I received my doppler Monday & I'm enjoying it! lol it did come with a small tube of gel. I was just curious of what kind of other gel I can use in case I run out.
@mommietobe92, did you get yours in yet. It should've came with a tiny white tube of gel. I know mine did and it lasted a little while then I looked up what else I could use In place of the ultrasound gel to save money, and people were saying plain KY jelly lubricant or aloe vera. I honestly haven't tried the aloe yet I have the numbing one and was afraid it would mess the doppler up. I think they meant the green aloe the regular one. If you try it let me know how it works. Personally the water based Ky was thick and lasted longer to find the heartbeat and hear the movements without having to squirt more onto your tummy. Hope this helps.
@mommietobe92, hey girl sorry it's been a few days. Had a couple dr appts early this week. I got the gel from the Drs office but I was using just regular water based KY jelly. Try to ask the dr or nurse if they would mind giving up a tube to save money or just get the KY it's not that expensive
The first couple times takes a little bit to get to used to and find the heartbeat. Don't get frustrated like I did. After you notice the little ones movements and areas the like the best, you'll have no problem. I use it a couple times a week, especially days of concern or my anxiety is super high. As long as I hear the swishing sounds(movement) and find the heartbeat for even a couple seconds my pulse and anxiety back off a little bit.
I think I've had it a little over a month now, right around 16 weeks. I have severe anxiety and my Meds were all lowered so all my doctors suggested getting one to ease my panic moods and anxiety.
@lindsey89, when did you start using yours?
@jewellmason1234, @mommietobe92 honestly is the best investment I have made!! And for the price you can't beat it. I checked other websites and they wanted $20-40 more for the same model. Also if the gel runs out any water based lubricant works just as well!! I've heard some people even ask their midwife or OB if they could give up some gel and that works too. I've been using ez-lubricating jelly the doctors use and I think it's better than the gel it comes with or you have to buy!
@jewellmason1234, I love mine!! They had an upgraded one but this one works just fine. Sometimes baby girl hates it so I have to use headphones so she doesn't "run away" from it.
@jewellmason1234 @lindsey89 I just ordered one just like yall!
@mommietobe92, it's just like an aux cord like a headphone piece on both ends. I didn't get it I know I have one lying around somewhere. An aux cord you have at home works fine. It's so you can hook it up to computer.
@lindsey89, what is the recording cable? will I need that?
Fetaldoppler.net amazing website. Great prices.
@smb_mommy, what's the best brand? & will actually work
Amazon , eBay or look on yard sale pages on Facebook in ur area
Awesome @mommietobe92 happy to hear you are enjoying it. I love mine. Especially when i feel her move and I use the doppler and it's spot on to where she is. Or if she doesn't move due to my anterior placenta, of course I get nervous and I use it and it just eases my mind. That tune should last a little while. The water based KY is just a little thicker so one application goes a long way.
