When does daddy get to hold the baby after birth? And is anyone else letting their husband cut the cord? I read it helps…

our ideal plan, is that the midwife helps Jonathan catch the baby and she immediately goes on my chest for an hour for skin to skin and breastfeeding. then after that hour when they do her weight and testing and all that if she doesn't need to nurse for a little bit, I'll be going to do a sitz bath and he'll be doing skin to skin with her while I'm doing my sitz... (:

My friend said with her last they didn't even ask her and the doctor just cut it so I want to make sure I ask in advance

They told me yesterday that they wipe the baby down and place him on the moms stomach they want them to stay like that for at least an hour . I forgot to ask about the umbilical cord cause I want my bf to cut it

@rockysmommy, me to because I definitely didn't have it with my first I saw her for 10 mins then they took her to nicu I didn't get to hold her for the first time till she was 5days old
