Does it hurt to have a catheter put in?

No can't even feel it but peeing hurts a bit after 😩

I always have epidural first so I don't feel it

It hurt for like a minute and I had my epidural and I still felt it 😩

if you're not numb...yes

It didn't hurt being put in because they normally give you the epidural first but when they take it out it was definitely uncomfortable but by the time you have experienced terrible contractions so no pain compares lol

VERY UNCOMFORTABLE without any numbing I couldn't keep one in for 5 mins when they tried it was the worst

I didn't get a catheter for my first two vaginal births... this time I have to get one because it with be csection and I will have epidural first. so won't feel it. but yea i didn't get catheter for my vaginal births.

You don't have to have one. You can tell them no

It really isn't that bad

You may have to refuse it more than once bc they'll try and talk you into it and say "our policy" blah blah. But it is entirely up to you!
