usually fetal monitoring or an ultrasound depends on the dr and he could be in distress cause he's running out of room inside u...don't stress ur self out it will b ok most Dr's do it now once uve started dilating and the baby doesn't seem to b dropping they just want to make sure

Why would he be in any distress though, like I asked why and he said just to take a listen to him but i never heard of this before.

it's just to make sure baby is OK and not in any distress. if there was a problem they will b scheduling to induce u soon or schedule for c section
