How should I prepare myself for my baby having to stay in the nicu once she's born ?( because of the medicine I'm on, she needs to be monitored for the min of 5 days .. ) I cry just thinking about it and I'm still seven weeks away from my due date! I'm a very emotional person to begin with , add the fact that I'm not going to be able to take my daughter home with me when we get discharged just breaks my ❤️
@calismommy2be, at least you have time to get prepared. You will cry first day you get discharged to be prepared. But I was there every day always talking to the doctors and nurses and id spend the whole day. It was my first baby so I was able to spend a lot of time there. I'm hoping this baby stays in full term
Thank you so much for that @amaperalta03 . I just want her healthy , even if it makes me sad leaving her. I will defiantly take your advice and talk with my doctor about things I can do to make it be a easier transition for me emotionally !
My daughter spent 40 days in the nicu cause I suddenly went into preterm labor so I was prepared for it unlike you. It's hard I won't sugar coat it for you love. But the time will fly. Just visit her every day and get involved. Ask to do skin on skin time. Bring books to read to her also. You just need to be positive cause they will be keeping her for her health so it's for the better. And like I said 5 days will fly by so quickly. Cause those 40 days flew by for me. You got this mama
Aw I hope as well that you have a healthy baby this time around ! & thank you again , this is our first baby as well and I plan on taking a lot of time off of work to be with her the first couple of months so as long as the doctors and Nurses allow it , I'll be by her side through it all !
