How do u select pediatrician?? Do u need to talk to ur insurance or directly to the pediatrician? How to go about it?

I googled pediatricians in my area that were accepting my insurance, new patients and had good reviews. I called them and told them I was pregnant and would like for them to be my pediatrician. the lady told me just to let my doctor and hospital know when I was registering and when baby comes that pediatrician will come check my baby.

You should go to the doctor first. I choose my PCP, who I already know, so I don't have to "interview" anyone new. You're supposed to make an appointment with the person you want, and meet them and stuff before baby is born. I would ask the nurse desk if they take your insurance, then meet with the doctor.

i asked my ob n she was a family doctor too so she will see my baby. if ur ob isn't then u can ask her for a list of pediatricians.
