Drs appointment today. cervix is closed. the mucus I'm leaking isn't amniotic fluid. my doctor is gonna schedule me for my c-section around June 20th. I go to my high-risk doctor tomorrow, so if my cervix has changed to a 25mm they will do progesterone to stop labor and steroid shot to help mature the babies lungs. Doctor said they only do those if they feel I will go into labor before 34 weeks. Doctor put me on modified bedrest. she explained what exactly it is. No more lifting, and no more grocery shopping or shopping. I can go out to dinner. go somewhere. but no excessive walking. no carrying groceries (which my husband and son have been doing) and no putting the groceries up, since that seems to hurt to. Just resting more around the house, but not strictly bed rest. said it's not healthy. I feel like I can make it to 36 weeks. maybe even longer. I get my aches and pains, cramps and BH, but I know I can make it. I just hope my uterus and cervix hold the babies in as long as possible. I really hope my cervix doesn't shorten anymore. I'm currently measuring 31/weeks. And I was told I look like I'm swelling a lot in my legs and privates. So I did a blood test to check my levels. and next week will do another ffn test. no my insurance doesn't cover it. the doctors don't understand why, so said I need to speak to my insurance company. could have been a wrong labeling. also we both know I need to get the testing done. it's best to know. good thing is, I don't have a date of when it needs to be paid. so I should be able to do a payment plan on my doctor bills.

@kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom, I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that. you have the right to complain after going through what you went through. your both very strong. I'm very happy to hear you and your baby were and are fine. I try not to complain much, because I know somebody always has it worse. But sometimes you gotta think about yourself. especially when your carrying another life.

I could complain about my experiences all day. Mostly it sucked because I was 2 hours away from home, my 4 year old and my husband. My blood pressure wouldn't stabilize so I was on a medication to prevent me from having seizers and that was the worst medication I have ever been on. Everyday I was in the hospital I felt sicker, lonelier, sadder, I had no idea where I was in the hospital because I had been flown in, I felt like a prisoner. They wouldn't let me shower until my 4th day, and even then I couldn't enjoy it because I had to clean myself one handed because I needed to hold the fetal monitor in place. When they finally let me off fetal monitoring my liver started failing which is what ultimately caused me to deliver so early. My c section went fine. It healed very well. My baby was born very small and stayed in the nicu for 7 weeks to grow bigger and stronger but since I had gotten steroid shots he came out okay. He needed a little bit of oxygen in the beginning but he didn't need machines breathing for him and he was off all oxygen by day 3. I got to hold him when he was 1 day old, some people have to wait days, weeks, or even months to hold their preemie's. I recovered just fine. He came home under 5 pounds but healthy. I've been able to breastfeed him even though doctors didn't think I could. Now he's a healthy and SUPER happy 7 month old and I don't have any health issues.

@kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom, What did you experience and feel right before you went into labor? I have a 4 year old. I carried him to 41 weeks. I only know what labor feels like after having him. but Im not sure what to expect with my twin pregnantcy. all I know is to be monitored weekly. and that they can come anytime.

@kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom, that had to be very miserable. But I know they just want to take the best care of their patients. I'm very nervous to go into labor early on. How did everything go? I know my friend was currently at the hospital from 31 weeks to 35. they just let her go home to rest in bed. I know being at home in your own comfort zone, feels alot better. It has to be hard to throw yourself on bedrest at home, all day everyday and not complete any chores. I know it's for the best for the babies though.

I was on bedrest at the hospital at 28 weeks and delivered at 29. Bedrest sucks, but it's a lot better if you're home and not hooked up to machines like I was. They wouldn't even let me shower without being on the fetal monitors. 👎🏼

@arachelle, well it's great your at 35 weeks and if your baby comes now he or she will do great. bleeding sounds really scary. is everything okay? How long have you been on modified bedrest?

I'm in the same boat, modified bedrest not complete bedrest. Swelling of legs and feet. Severe BH. I have made it to 35 weeks. I started bleeding severely at 12 weeks.
