We got mostly new because our first born is a girl and we are having a boy. The car seat we did get from a garage sale but also have a new one just in case something goes wrong with it. Although I'm sure it won't because it is still pretty new.

I bought a used rockaroo and used halonest I'm sure I'll grab clothes from resale when I find out the sex

We bough his clothes uses and some other things but did a new crib, car seat stroller and base (: just due to safety recalls.

Personally I wouldn't buy a car seat used. Just because it isn't expired yet doesn't mean it is still safe. If that car seat was ever in an accident it needs to be thrown out. Or being out in the heat to long can damage the plastic and straps.

yeah. just double check the expiration dates on car seats. baby stuff is just unreasonably expensive
