I'm new to everything , this is my first pregnancy, so I'm just wondering what is everyone's opinion on breastfeeding ?
not while I had split nipples. it really doesn't help, and you could risk some nipple confusion if you introduce her to a bottle too soon which means she could refuse the breast and she would only want the bottle, because it's easier for her. then you would have to always pump and bottle feed, and it can be hard to keep your supply up my exclusively pumping.
@crunchymomma Okay thank you, so you didn't use a pump? @marialovey7 awe, I am so sorry.. that must have been soo hard, I.can only.imagine. bit I'm glad you got thru it and your baby is okay!
- he had to be put in the NICU for Jaundice after I got discharged (I still Stayed w. him thru the whole time he was there) and so this nurse told me I couldn't breastfed him Caz he needed to be in the light the whole time and could only feed him w. formula (since it was easier and faster her words).. and since my milk wasn't there fully ... and after he got discharged he didn't wanna latch back on correctly i tried so many times to latch him back but couldnt since he got used to the bottle... and I try pumping for about 2-3 weeks after but after a while my supply starting drying ... and I gave up... if only that bitch of a nurse would of let me do both (breastfed and formula) I would of been breastfeeding still 😑😭😸👎👎 @macalula21
it's not really painful. I mean in the beginning, like the first 2 weeks, there might be pain. baby may have trouble latching, you'll have to teach them. it that case you may have split nipples. but if you take care of them correctly they heal up quickly and you probably won't have any other problems after that.
My opinion is if you can then do it! My baby is due in a couple weeks and I plan to breast feed as long as I can :)
@crunchymomma thank you for the advice(: @marialovey7 if you don't mind me asking..what happened?
@peaceinfall thank you haha, and okay I think forsure I'm going to breastfeed I want the best for the baby. yeah it will most likely be painful but like I said, worth it!
Yeah I've heard it is won much healthier and I am almost 100% I am going to breastfeed. it has to be painful tho right? lollol
One of the best things you can do in my opinion! I hope breastfeeding works out for me.
- go for it !!! it's best for the baby and cheaper.... I wish I could of breastfed for a longer period of time...
I love it. more than I did formula feeding my first baby for soooo many reasons. breast is best, but it's not even that. it's the bond I have with my baby, and how easy it is. I don't have to pack a cap ton of stuff to go out for the day. all I need is a shirt that makes it easy to breastfeed, diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, and a burp cloth.
I absolutely love it! Don't let the fear of possible pain stop you from trying. I haven't had any pain or soreness at all. Make sure you ask for help the couple days you are at the hospital. Don't let them take the baby after birth! Let them know you plan to breastfeed and want to keep your baby for atleast the first hour after birth. Drink tons of water and eat lots!
