I'm doing an epidural. my Sil, who has no kids and is scared of throw up, called this other lady a wuss for getting one. I can't wait until the day she turns up pregnant and I tell her who is the wuss now. I don't wanna stress my body more than I have to

I tried for 9hrs without an epidural and then I caved and finally got some sleep

I was upset I got the epidural with my first the pain wasn't as bad as I thought but my mom along with nurses kept pressuring me saying I'm almost to the point where I won't be able to get it if I decided I couldn't do it and saying that the doctor has a lot more other people and he won't be able to get to me… so I'm definitely planning on not getting one this time

I feel like if I do have another one I wanna try natural. With my first, the epidural was amazing up until the pushing part I started to feel every contraction 😣 idk but going through that I think I could go natural. We'll see whenever the time comes haha 😊

Why would I get an epidural if I don't have to? Lol. What type of advice is that?

I totally agree I was in labor 29 hours and wish I would of gotten it sonnet waited until like 21 hours in never again. I'm on my second now and want it right away lol

From having chemicals shoved in their bodies? Lol. I think that's the dumbest advice I've ever heard in my life. My mom had all four of her kids naturally, as did her mom, as did her mom, etc. No woman in my immediate family has ever gotten an epidural. A woman is strong enough to have her child naturally. Or bodies were made for it. If you can't do it then do what you can but there's nothing wrong with having your kid without an epidural.

Why are you so being so bitchy about it? @jesjeslovesyou I was ONLY offering HELPFUL advice to FTMs that want the advice! YOU clearly are some kind of warrior and come from a long line of warriors, BRAVO to you all! I have had an epidural and I have had without! I had one epidural and 3 natural and one csection spinal block NOT BY CHOICE, no kidding women were made to have their babies naturally.....Obviously I'm aware of that....The point is I was trying to give them something to think about when so many women tout natural childbirth and not all women can actually tolerate that pain, let's be real!

I'm sorry but this post just bothers me. Just because something worked for you doesn't mean that's the answer for everyone. FTM's are fully capable of giving birth naturally, I know many who have. Don't scare people or advise them against a choice that they've made for themselves because YOU feel differently. We need to be respectful of every woman's choice whether it's their first time or fifth. This advice is not helpful or constructive in my opinion.

It's not about fear or trying to "be a hero" it's about what a mother chooses and decides is best for her and her baby.
