We have a chicco keyfit 30 and it's awesome! So easy to install and getting the seat in and out of the base is so easy as well. Highly recommend it.

Maybe talk to an associate working specifically in the baby department or talk to someone in charge of receiving recalls and ask them which seats don't have any recalls. I'm pretty sure it's absolutely mandatory everywhere to remove it from shelves when it's recalled but it never hurts to be extra careful.

I work at Wal-Mart. It is mandatory to pull everything recalled off the shelves so anything recalled shouldn't be able to even be purchased.

as long as you buy a brand new seat from the store that hasn't been on the shelf for a year or two, it should be 100% up to date with no recalls. most recalls are minor things though. like a buckle that gets stuck after being gunked up with food.
