that does suck @twinmama_navywife ... you should ask for their credentials as high risk doctors! I bet they don't have one qualified!? I'm sorry you are going through this

@wannaboyplz, like I said.. It's just ridiculous because if they "offer the service" at the va I can't get a referral at all for civilian doctors.. F-ing BS. I don't believe it for a second but they won't accept the referral.. 😡

if your OB now accepts Prime, I don't understand why they wouldn't. Try to do some research on it. I had active prime (meant I always saw VA docs lol) then had it for almost 2 years when I got out from my hubby. there was a VA facility close but was not required to use it at all with prime. I feel like someone doesn't know what they are talking about and is being lazy about their job. you get that a lot with VA, I see them now for service connected and I have to fight constantly for my benefits, the workers there really do not know what you are entitled to. I have to tell them!!! fight for yourself, sucks but it is the only way you will get anything done to your satisfaction

@wannaboyplz, tricare and the va are denying me to a referral for no good reason. Saying because I gave prime I can't see a civilian OB which I know is bs

the VA could give you a referral to see your doctor now. the one here doesn't have OB on staff so they refer me to outside the VA, for those who don't have an OB they prefer they send them to one they choose. If you have selected one, you give them the information and they will give you a referral.

I know! they picked a horrible time to mess up like normal. Tricare is good but the damn cons that come with it suck. I hope everything works out tho if you need to vent about them message me!

I feel you mama! I'm switching the standard after the baby. I feel like every week its a headache with tricare or the hospital so I understand

@sarahdd16, that's what the women from tricare said.. But then they're getting more money out of me.. Because chances are they will be premies or need extra care so I'll have to pay butt loads on standard. That was the main reason to go on prime.

I can't believe that. it's bullshit ... I don't understand why they have to make everything so complicated .... u woukd think they woukd want what is best for the babies. if u can't get a referral you should look into switching to tricare standard until after ur pregnancy so you aren't required to be see by military dr.

@sarahdd16, we've had prime since the first of April and finally got the information recently on who our assigned doctor was. Then called tricare because he didn't have a phone number, was told I needed to see the women's centre at the VA to get a referral, called tricare to ask why I had to see them and was then told I can't see my civilian OB if the VA has the resources and no chance of getting a referral.. It's total BS that I have to see a doctor I don't know for a pregnancy they have no idea about. So I went and requested to change my PCM.. 😡 hoping it gets approved because she's from the same place as my OB.. Would be REAL easy to get a referral then..

Ugh what a pain!! tricare does that crap all the time. they want u to see military drs regardless because they don't have to pay out as much. it's ridiculous. did you get a referral to see your OB ur at now or did u just chose one and go? I know they like to assign drs if u have prime.

@sarahdd16, tricare is trying to tell me with prime I can't see my OB I've been seeing for my whole pregnancy (I'm now 33.4 weeks) and trying to make me see someone who doesn't know me or my pregnancy. It's especially frustrating because I'm having twins and considered high risk..

Idk how long you've been dealing with it ... but trust me u never get used to it and u just find it sucks more the longer u deal with it haha.
