Pissed off that I'm supposed to be recovering from my C-section at home and I can't.
instead of waiting a week to take my baby to the doctors. they told me they want me to go today. Which I did, and he didn't even get seen . All because my Medicaid didn't put him on my policy like they were suppose too. Than they tell me I have to go to Social services and give them proof saying he was Born 😑😑😑 Like really!!! For one i just gave birth to a baby, SECOND.... Since when did They start doing that!??? ( I didn't 6 yrs ago, my cousin didn't 7 months ago when she had her baby) i ask my aunt and she never heard of them doing such a thing 😡😡😡 But for my baby to be seen by his doctor i have to do this than wait for the info to be Processed. && I have my own appointments to attend....ughhhhh So much for Getting rest and trying to recover. *And I'm giving everyone i talk to Hella additude* This is really ridiculous.
it's the hospital job to report it to the state which is medicaid, All I'm supposed to do is tell my HMO.
The State of MD is just difficult😣
that'd exactly how it's supposed to go but for some reason they giving me the run around. @mommycheeks
@mandy890
Is it at the same hospital or in the same system? Because normally insurance doesn't catch up that quickly, which is why they wait until baby is added to start processing the charges separately for baby. That's dumb. I'm sorry hon, idk who wasn't paying attention but I hope y'all get it worked out soon!!
also if the dad can add the baby to his job insurance do that and apply for Medicaid as a secondary insurance and Medicaid picks up the Co-pay
Actually the law states that if a women receives Medicaid that the baby is considered under the mothers medicaid for 30 days that's how the baby get it's baby first checkups because technically new Medicaid don't normally start until the first of of the month that's why the baby goes under the mother Medicaid during the pregnancy the mom reports to social services that's she pregnant and provides proof so when they baby is born all you do is take up certificate of birth from hospital and they add baby and babies insurance won't start until 1st of month it takes 6-8 weeks for real birth certificate and social security card so certificate of birth works to social services and wic office I use to work for social services and this is how it was done in PA and DE so I would ask to speak to a supervisor or call the change report center
They should have given you an unborn card. That's what I had with my first and I do now with this baby. Then once the baby is born you just call them and tell them baby's name and dob and they should send you a new one. At least that's how they do it here.
Call the change report center because you should be able to use your own card for the baby for at least 30 days @parbear
