The rice might make her constipated, talk to her dr about trying oatmeal cereal instead maybe

Rice cereal makes babies constipated very easily. I never gave it to my son more than twice and he was screaming in pain. Since he was 4 months old he hasn't gotten any and he's 1

It does keep them full so they sleep longer...but can cause constipation...I use to put a little bit of prune juice

I would hold off on prunes until at least 6 months. Oatmeal cereal may help her poop easier, prunes will irritate her little tummy. My sons pediatrician said we could try rice or oatmeal, whichever we wanted to. He seems to like the oatmeal a little better@savvysmom

I hate to say it, but it sounds like her digestive tract isn't ready to handle it. Until 6 months of age, babies digestive system isn't meant to be able to handle anything other than breast milk (or formula, as it is designes to imitate breast milk)...they may show outwards signs of being ready but it doesn't mean their insides are ready. Also, studies show that "staying fuller longer" through the night does NOT help them sleep better, that is an assumption made and every kid is different. Formula fed babies can sleep more or sleep LESS than breastfed babies, and we all know that breast milk digests quicker and they need to be fed more often. Same concept with rice cereal or other infant cereals, just because baby feels fuller, doesn't mean they'll sleep longer! In fact, my girl has been exclusively breastfed since she was born and she started sleeping 8+ hours through the night at 2 months of age! Just throwing the facts out there, it's your choice when you want to start solids because you know your baby and also plenty of doctors still will give the okay at 4 months even WITH current research indicating that it is MUCH better to wait at least 6 months...but I prefer to help people learn what I've learned on the subject in the hopes to help!
