I work in a nursing home but I'm on light duty so I help feed residents take vitals and other stuff but the one resident just found out she had shingles so she had them for a few so I might have been exposed I'm almost 35 weeks pregnant should I call my doctor or what

anytime a pregnant woman is exposed to the varicella-zoster virus, the doctor/OB/midwife should be notified. if exposed and contracted, the virus can cause viral pneumonia in the mother and unborn child. I'm a lab tech btw, and test for this virus all the time in the lab

I took her vitals everyday

Did you see any shingle spots when you did that? Cause that's when they are contagious. Just like chicken pox, when the "sore" is open. And just started. @pteliza13

You had to have physically touched the open "sore". Went through the same thing earlier in my pregnancy with a family member. They are pretty hard to catch honestly. Unless you bath the person. @pteliza13

@pteliza13, they aren't contagious unless you touched them.
