When you pump all this milk but your on strict directions to pump and dump for 2 weeks...and it's only day 2😭
the hospital didn't even suggest that... I had milk stores in their fridge and they threw it away they didn't suggest for me to donate it or anything
Poor baby.. hope she gets better soon. But I really wouldn't dump the milk, you could help another mother out or hospitals that have preemies that can only bottle feed and aren't getting the nutrients they need from formula.
I'm going to talk to a LC because it's sad that I have to do that..but then again I don't want to put my baby's health at risk because we've been stuck in the hospital for 3 days now because of it
it took less than a week to get protein out of my system? But, i guess it also does depend on how often and how much protein you intake.
that's odd, I've never heard of pump and dump for 2weeks for change of diet? its takes a week or less... and even if you really have to dump, why not just donate it to a hospital or mothers who cant produce but want to feed their child breast milk. That looks like colostrum! Baby needs that colostrum to build immunity and has all the stuff baby needs the first few weeks.
I have the same problem. My daughter has a milk protein allergy as well and yes it takes 2 weeks for the protein to get out of you system. But you can save the milk by freezing it and introduce it later down the road. A lot of times babies grow out of this allergy. Also if they have a milk protein allergy than you're also advised to stay away from soy too.
Yeah^ that's not good. It's not even milk the baby is getting yet it's colostrum and that's the most important for the babies immunity
you NEVER pump and dump. doctors don't know anything about your milk. talk to a LC, NOT the doctor.
That does not take 2 weeks to get out of your system. that's the most ridiculous thing I've heard and I breastfed for 14 months with my 1st. it can take a week but pump and dump? ridiculous.
@hammy baby have a milk allergy...so I have to change my diet and eat nothing with milk protein. so the doctor said to pump and dump for two weeks while changing my diet and after we can introduce her to the breast milk again
pumping is a tough job -____- hope linn g do you mommies pump for? ??
Ladies I called my insurance about breast pump and they said with their insurance in order to get a pump I get a prescription from doctor then I call 3 different numbers to see what my insurance covers but the only thing is I have to wait til baby is born to call and get pump so I want to at least buy a hand pump which do you ladies recommend for hand pump and when I can get a pump from insurance please n thank you 💖💖

‼️Breastfeeding mommies who pump!‼️
Question: what is your routine as far as when your baby is feeding off your breast vs breast milk you pumped in a bottle? Do you exclusively pump and only feed your baby pumped milk in the bottle? Or do you do breast and bottle for whatever reason? And what is your pump and feeding routine? For example, how do you pump every 2-4 hours if your baby eats every 2-4 hours? T.I.A!!!
What?! I dont see why not, they're just wasting good milk..
