We tried letting our girl use one after a couple weeks, she never did like it! She nurses about 8 times per 24 hour period, and comfort suckles to fall asleep for naps and bed time. Once she's out, she will let my nipple go and sleep. She sleeps an average of 8 to 10 hours per night without waking, and done since about 2 months! Her sleep schedule grts thrown off every once in a while because of growth spurts, but most of the time she's good 😉 She never has needed it, and frankly I never saw a reason to give her one. They suckle for comfort but also to increase supply and communicate to our bodies what they need from the milk and I have always thought it was important to let her do that when she needs to! It is hard when they're young and need it more often but they won't always find suckling to be the most comforting thing! Might as well enjoy it while I can 😍

Do it right away that's what doctors usually reccomend since babies sometimes forget to breathe that's how SIDS happens so they learn how to breathe thru their nose fo

I waited three weeks and my daughter will not take the pacifier. I've tried giving it to her when she's mad, just off the boob, happy, sitting with other people, almost asleep but still looking for a patch and with me holding her. End result, she hates it with a passion.

The hospital told me to wait 3 weeks so I planned on doing that but my baby ended up having to get tests run etc and they gave him one to relax during so now he uses one, only when he wants it, to go to sleep, relax etc. no confusion!

I gave both my bf babies pacifiers from day 1 and there was no confusion... They resented the pacifier and would reluctantly take it, but much preferred to use me instead. Lol. It's good for my second baby because he wants to comfort suck when he is already full and if he keeps nursing it gives him tummy pains so I will switch him to the pacifier so he can keep sucking but not overeat.

My son was given one two days after birth to get studies done & only uses it for sleep and after some feeding because he thinks my boob is one lol. 😁

I gave my baby her pacifier the day after birth, and she still uses it but only to put her self back to sleep because then otherwise I would be used as a pacifier 🙂

My pediatrician recommended waiting a month to introduce bottle or pacifiers. To avoid nipple confusion. Lucas still had a rough time at a month but got better around 6 wks. He will only take it when he wants it.lol
