When trying to make a registry all I want to add are household supplies! Like we could really use a vacuum, or those nice metal storage racks for our garage and laundry room. I need to get my stove fixed, things like that. My baby has more than enough clothes, he has a crib(s), carseat(s), swing(s), we have one diaper bag and the hospital will give us another. We have tons of baby gear, and people have given us duplicates of most of it. Diapers and wipes are happily accepted, but more than anything I need miscellaneous household items that would indirectly make life with a baby easier. Anybody else feel this way? 👾

I would eventually like a girl, but I'm warming up to the idea of boys. They are simpler, and my husband is SO adorable when he gets to talking about things him and the boys are going to do. (This is our first baby, but there is no way I'm getting outta this without having at least 4 kids lol) And most of my baby supplies are hand-me-downs from friends or family, but I'm super picky about quality so I just donate anything that I don't feel comfortable using. I couldn't use it all anyway, I've had three different people give me swings alone!
@gingyrex, Amen! Everyone asks, "Aww are you gonna try for a girl now?" (This is our second boy). I'm like, nah I get boys. Simple to dress, usually want to get into everything...I'm perfectly fine being a boy mom lol. Omg that's awesome with your friend!
@mommagotbump16, I had a friend give me literally tubs and tubs and tubs of baby clothes. I couldn't believe she bought that many. Most had never been worn! I'm glad I'm having a boy, "cute" just means overalls lol
@gingyrex, you're speaking my language girl! All my work friends splurge on tons of cute outfits, and all I can think is, "how the hell are you gonna get puke and poop outta that?!" :P I'm just thankful most of our plain onesies from our oldest don't have stains!
"Yes um, I'd like a maid service please... oh and a chocolate cake with extra peace and quiet. Mmmkay. Now go away" Babies really only need the practical stuff. I'm not going to spend thousands on frivolous things when all he's going to want is boob and sleep, ha. @mommagotbump16
@gingyrex Same thing I've done girl! I appreciate people wanting to help, but in our case, we already have so much left over from our oldest, so I'm like, seriously, it's ok to only buy practical stuff! Lol. I say stick to what you got, and if they push, tell em you need something to clean up after everyone wink wink!
@mommagotbump16 I put a few breast feeding extras like freezer bags, and this swing\basinet combo I'd love to have instead of a pack n play. (I have yet to buy a pack n play, I kind of hate them for long, drawn out reasons). I'm not using a diaper genie because we already take out the trash daily (and I feel like my husband wouldn't be able to figure it out, ha) Basically I just need diapers and wipes. But when I say that the response is "surely you need something" and all I can think of are domestic items. We didn't even get a real silverware set until a few weeks ago!
@gingyrex, I completely understand. I'm basically putting diapers, wipes, diaper pail refills, etc on there. Then a couple of cute outfits if anyone feels like not getting practical stuff. I once saw a handheld vacuum on one of my friend's registries actually lol
It just seems silly to put "dream items" of ridiculously expensive pack n plays when I would benefit more from simple household supplies.
@lucyyxoxo_, I haven't added these things to my registry. I had a few relatives ask me to make one so they'd know what to get me. But I can't help but think of things I actually need. We've only been in our house 6 months, and its our first house, so we're missing many really basic things. I bought or have already been gifted all my baby essentials, so when people ask me what I need, the first things that come to mind are things for the house. I by no means am going to ask relatives to furnish it for me, its just what comes to mind.
I think that's asking for too much. I didn't even make a registry my first time around bc I didn't like the idea of telling people what I needed. & we still got blessed with alot..

My August baby decided she wanted to be a May baby like her big sister. Madison Noelle was born on Tuesday, May 24 at 3:50pm, weighing 2lbs, 13oz and 14". She was born at 27 weeks and has a long road ahead of her. Every day she has been getting stronger and amazing everyone. Please keep us in your prayers, my family and I have a long road ahead of us. Congratulations to everyone and I wish you all wonderful pregnancies and deliveries! ??❤️
At What Age Should a Child Make Their Own Breakfast?
Make your own breakfast!
At what age do you think a child should be making their own breakfast? I have a 10 year old and I think he is perfectly capable of making himself breakfast. It doesn't take rocket science to put some waffles into the toaster, or microwave some pancakes. My husband insists that he needs to have breakfast made for him because if we left it up to him he wouldn't eat enough and it would take him forever.
