I heard midwives are cheaper actually. it's a midwife that works at my obgyn office and I see her if my doctor isn't available occasionally.

I have a midwife and I don't pay anything more than I would for an OB

@mrssanderson, I heard the same thing they are more caring I believe most ob cares but majority is there for the money

yea they are in the practice so if you do need medical intervention or other information or another opinion you have the option.

ya, I've had an ob with both my pregnancies but I wish I had have gotten a midwife this time...they definitely care more about personal details/desires.

Yea, I was more comfortable with an OB but I get what my insurance pays for lol @leenasunshine24 but no they are much more than a nurse. They can do much more and the training is a lot different.

Completely agreed. With my son and with this one I am still offered pain management if I want or they will allow what ever birthing method you chose. It's amazing there are three in the practice I'm going to for this one and there is an ob as well.

I have a midwife and they work hand in hand with my hospital so it's great.

I have a midwive but that's how the military works. The OBs are there for the high risk mommies.. So idk if the cost is a true thing..

midwives are there 24/7 with other patients but at they same time listen to what u want they have all medical training yes but are not like obgyns

@mrssanderson, OK I'm gone loom into it well I like my ob he's a male he does he job the nurses are nice and supportive hold conversations with me

It's just preference, I don't think midwives can do c sections, I could be wrong though @leenasunshine24

Depends on what you want your birthing experience to be like. I've heard midwives are generally cheaper but I could be mistaken... a good documentary to watch about midwives is the business of being born. There's a series too, pretty interesting

they are expensive i looked into it and its like 600$ plus extra stuff like thats money for the baby i say obgyn

I loved my ob, she was so good. After I had my c section she came in and checked on me the next day before she went out of town
