THC is different than cigarettes in a multitude of ways. If you're talking about MJ. Like I said smoking anything can harm a baby, but THC edibles aren't good either because it's a much more concentrated dose of the THC. I smoked weed up to 24 weeks and there are a lot of women that smoke their whole pregnancies and don't get tested, but it is still a risk. If you quit before 30 weeks there is a good chance it won't show up in the meconium, and it certainly won't show up in the babies urine or yours. I've done a ton of research on this and talked to so many people. A good resource is if you have the What to Expect app, go to community and join the Ganja Mamas board, I've learned so much there. There is no evidence at all that THC itself can harm a fetus, but depriving the baby of oxygen can. Feel free to message me if you want :)
Like @mrssanderson said if you smoke anything while pregnant it does deprive the baby of oxygen
I stopped smoking cigarettes, marijuana, and meth when I found out I was pregnant. Took me about 2 weeks to stop completely. If I can do it, so can you. Think about your baby's health. 👍
I'd be wary of marijuana because babies have so much more fat in their system and THC stores in fat cells. Like anything, it takes a lot longer for your baby to process. There are no studies saying either way if it's ok or not so I wouldn't take any chances.
if your talking about pot theres a new federal law that every baby gets tested when they are born if its positive for marijuana dhs is contacted immediately so just a fair warning. if your talking about cigarettes yes its terrible for the baby my friend had her baby at 28 weeks because she smoked her whole pregnancy i know its tough to quit because i had to as soon as i found out i was pregnant i had completly stopped smoking 2 weeks later and ive been smoking for 3 years and my fiance still smokes so its tough the cravings are still there but its better for your health and the babies
When you smoke anything regardless of what Google says, you're depriving your body of oxygen... so yes, it can hurt the baby
I smoke whole pregnant with my kids and they both have asthma. I have quit 2 years ago.
smoking anything while pregnant is not okay! its not you you have to think about its your baby whatever you breathe they breathe .
Smoke what? There are no studies that prove that the use of marijuana harms the fetus. There are, however, a multitude of studies that prove that tobacco harms a fetus.
if you've always been a smoker, they suggest not to cut cold turkey and to slowly cut back on your smoking and eventually you'll quit, that's if you're talking about cigarettes. because babies, if you stop cols turkey can suffer from nicotine withdrawal.
You can smoke while pregnant but it can hurt your baby and cause the baby to be born prematurely and have heart or lung problems
There's a really good study I found that one woman did on babies who's mothers smoked while pregnant, I'll try to find it and post the link
