My baby has jaundice on a level 17 out of 20 which 20 is NICU level. I'm willing to let him stay one night and I take him home tomorrow but if they want to keep him longer than that don't I have the right to refuse? I can do the same things at home that they're doing here.

If they don't have a blanket, I would keep baby at the hospital to be under the light.

Ask and see if you can take the bili light blanket home with you. We are battling jaundice right now too with my son. He has been in the hospital twice for it but the doctor said we can take a bili light blanket home with us if his levels are below 18. He goes back to get checked on Monday.

mostly all you have to do is set in the sun with him and he'll be fine.
