Tdap vaccine for whooping cough ?? Opinions? I'm Leaning towards no at this point but what do you all think ?

@abbydi, the only known side effects is that of your body's immune system creating antibodies. you could feel flu like systems, but if you have a healthy immune system then there shouldn't be any side effects at all.

@aphrodite2014, are their any side affects to the vaccine ?

I got it at 30 weeks

I'm not getting it.

They didn't even recommend getting it until three or four years ago. I don't think it's safe enough when baby is in womb.

whooping cough can be fatal to babies and children under 1-2 years old you could be a carries of it and not know it and pass it to your baby also! GET IT!!! don't risk your child's life over a shot that's only going to help your immune system and if you plan to breast feed he will get some of the antibodies your body makes that his can't yet!

I am opting out. I rarely get sick, and neither do my kids, so considering that the baby should have an immunity for a while from me and we aren't going to be handing the baby around. but that's just me.

I think you and EVERYONE WHO WILL BE AROUND THE BABY THE MOST should get there tdap because you never know, I wouldn't risk it to find out either ....I'm having everyone get there vaccine if not they can't touch my baby....it's just something I'm very concerned with since it's one of the main causes for Sids

I got mine because whooping cough is happening more often these days and I didn't want to take the risk
