They kept me because that can cause an infection is what they had explained to me, he still had a decent amount of fluid as well

I'd get a second opinion, because contractions that have made you dilate this early should've been enough for them to keep you longer for observation. @proudmommyy1123

@camdensmamma, they did a ultrasound and said since the baby had enough fluids it was totally fine to keep an eye on that

I'm really surprised they sent you home with water leaking, they made me stay with an IV and I wasn't even dilated or having contractions

Technically, you can have the outer part of the cervix dilated, but the inner part not be dilated at all. Maybe that's what they meant? (that's not a common thing though) @proudmommyy1123

my guess is that 5cm but no effacment. . but I'm surprised they would just send you home at 26 weeks. definitely not normal.

@alana_sunshine, i was getting lots of strong contractions back to back ! But being that my cervix was closed and baby still breeched they sent me home , told me pay close attention to bleeding water leakage or more contractionss.... I had a bit of my water leaking aswel @pokemom641

Dilated means the cervix is opening. I would definitely get a second opinion or clearer explanation.

how can you be 5cm dilated if your cervix is closed?
