People will always be afraid of what they don't understand. I for one have no issue with it because everyone deserves to be happy and as parents if we can't spread acceptance to our children this world is only going to get worse. Being cyst gender we will never understand the struggle transgender people go through and we should never make it harder for them. That's just my opinion.

@twinscomingsoon, one woman even had the audacity to say they aren't people, they're just perverts... Like can you believe?! Like... WHAT?!

I think that if they're making the restrooms Transgender then they need to make them the single room. My reasoning for that, any creepy perv can walk in to the women's restroom and when he gets approached for doing something wrong he can say "I identify as a woman." and totally get away with it. it's just opening doors for the wrong people.

@twinmama_navywife, ignorance at its finest. It's 2016 you'd think acceptance would be more prominent but it's not seems like we're taking a huge step back. It's scary to think of what this world will become in a few short years. Smh. Somethings gotta give. Seems like our generation might be the generation of enlightenment but we still have the generation of oppression alive and because they are also the baby boom generation they take up a majority of the problem right now. :/

@lilmommy93, it still takes A LOT of courage for someone who identifies as a female to confidently walk into a female restroom. But yes I see what you mean, it would also be plain obvious if someone was in there with the wrong intentions.

@twinscomingsoon, even with it being 2016 we are still in the adolescent stages of acceptance for a lot of things, like this, gay marriage, etc etc.

I have no problem with anyone my sister is actually transitioning however, if you have a penis I don't want you using the restroom with my daughter. I'm not saying that transgender males are pervs but, some are just as well as what is considered the normal gender...I just feel more comfortable if I send my 8 year old in the restroom alone when there aren't men in there, because they're men until they have a complete sex change in my eyes. @twinmama_navywife

I understand the level of uncomfort that mother may feel. I feel similar with mothers who insist on taking pubescent boys into a female bathroom. for the sake for less confusion if a he has surgically became a she then she comes into the female restroom. the she's that still have female parts I fear for their safety. transgender children gets tricky. I fear for young transgender using male restrooms. they are designed differently. I don't fear a transgender female in a female restroom nor do I fear a lesbian in a female restroom. I wish we had more family restrooms and gender neutral restrooms available. I am not here to debate. I will not respond to negative statements nor argue my opinions.

@twinmama_navywife, I realize that it takes a lot of courage and it's hard to overcome. it's just one of those things that to me opens so many doors. I think that if the bathrooms were the single user rooms both sides of this whole debate could call it good. conservative parents could feel safer about letting their kid go pee alone and anyone who identified as the opposite gender could use the room away from the judgemental glances.

you're right @twinmama_navywife but, I think they should have enough respect and common courtesy to understand and use the correct restroom. Although, I would never send my child in the restroom alone. I think it becomes more of an issue when they stand rather than sit. because then someone in the next stall may recognize they're not fully female.

I think that they should go to the bathroom depending on what their ID or Birth certificate says. I mean most of the time you really can't even tell especially if they've had surgery to make them the opposite sex. its not my business or my life so I say its okay as long as its not like an actual male, still penis and man features that goes to a women's bathroom because then they're still a man not women.

I'm only really considered with people who are still transitioning though...not those who have had full sex changes...

@twinscomingsoon, I completely and wholeheartedly agree with your first comment, however I don't think the world is "changing for the worse" everything is a learning curve and it takes some destruction before anything new can be built ☺ I see a lot of wonderful souls around more than ever! We just got to look in the right place and make sure we lead example to our children and other people as well. Love and hugs ❤

I understand what you meant now! Anyway, I think in a way it's a wonderful thing that we have so many challenging things and different points of view because ultimately it's a big kick for a chain reaction of learning and growth!

@miicat, we as a society can def learn from one another. It's so important to respect each others way of thinking.

Even if we don't agree with that way of thinking fully. From respect and understand we can grow

I agree 100% I feel really uncomfortable when I see ppl getting discriminated against! If a transgender person feels like a woman why should she have to go into a men's room just to make a few ppl "comfortable" ??

I agree with you completely. They should be able to use the restroom that corresponds with the gender the identify with.
