I remember my labor like it was yesterday but it was a year ago lol I had an epidural a hour and a half after my water broke even though my contractions really didn't hurt at all with the epidural I felt everything but no pain as far as the pressure of pushing and I felt her as they were pulling her out but no pain , I was able to walk with no help right after I gave birth even after getting 3 stitches because I never really lost any feeling in my legs over all it was a great delivery im due in July and plan on going natural

You too:) and I am sure you will be strong enough to get through it just remember everything your hospital will have for you to use. Also if it helps bring lavender calming lotion, a heat pad or a focus point that puts you in a happy place.

@karinacx, I am also not going to take pain meds at all unless I cave but I will try not too. There are alot of things that I don't like about it one being I will have to stay in bed and not move. 2.) I shouldn't be able to feel anything which scares me cause I hate feeling numb and 3.) my sister got one with all 4 of her kids but that last one didn't work. She told me it felt more rewarding at the end. That's why I am going to try and not get one.

@karinacx, I've done it once before and it was AMAZING! Like I said, breathe in deep through your nose and exhale through your mouth during contractions, and make sure they are deep slow breaths and focus on that and it'll be over before you know it. plus that way you don't have to worry about waiting for the epidural to wear off. there is no shame in getting and epidural, it's just a matter of choice. honestly the contractions were the worst part of labor, you push during a contraction so it takes your mind off the pain (pushing didn't hurt at all, just feels like you're trying to take a big poop, lol sorry tmi ) wishing you best thoughts and a happy delivery which ever route you choose :)

I got induced and ended up wanting the epidural 6 hours into contractions and I got the epidural and it didn't really hurt to get it but like 30 mins later the contractions got worse and they said the epidural didn't take and they had to call for another epidural and it took like a hour to get it and it was really painful the 2nd time but once it kicked in I wasn't really in pain anymore then she was turned the wrong way so they had me in my side pushing up on my knees pushing it sucked bad being put in all thos positions with my legs numb but It didn't hurt

Just breathe through the contractions and sitting on a labor ball works wonders! :D

After having 24 hours of contractions every 5 minutes I decided to go to the hospital (I wanted a natural birth) and when I got there I was 7 cm dialated and 100% effaced, and 3 hours after I got to the hospital and about 30 mins of pushing I had a beautiful boy. I am so glad I had him natural, the contractions hurt but pain is so temporary. Do what you think will be best for you, but I know for me there's just something wonderful about natural child birth and I'm planning on another natural delivery in September!

Believe me, the epidural is a life saver! I seriously had the easiest time pushing. I was talking and laughing, no pain at all. Just pressure. I would say just practice breathing, because that was honestly the toughest part of pushing, trying to catch my breath in between. But the epidural doesn't hurt at all, and you're already in pain from contractions so you don't even notice it.

I hate needles even though I have tattoos so I went all natural . I got at the hospital when I was 6 cm . it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be

@gabbii, I hate needles. lol. so I'm deciding whether I want to or not. But I heard you get back pains that last forever.
