Thinking about joining the navy a few months after I have my baby so it can have a good life.
@kimberlynnn, thank you :) and he doesn't know I want to join yet, and I don't want him to think he's gonna have to join instead because I'm wanting to join. I'm thinking about telling him tonight. I just told my dad today to get his advice. He served for 20 years. So I had lots of questions to ask 😁
@kfisher70, well good luck why isn't the father trying to go military???
@mommygreene, me either at this point yeah we get free medical and dental but our dependents don't. I'm so over the navy at this point
@mommygreene, yeah, but I think I'll be able to go through it. I'll try! 😝 lol
Girllllll they couldn't get me to reenlist if they had me tied, gagged, and blind folded @kimberlynnn
@kimberlynnn, sorry I'm new to this so I'll have a hard time remembering to tag you
Lol girl I am so over it, it serves your baby no good if you plan on spending a lot of time away from your baby, I mean the benefits are cool but you'll be unhappy if you don't have the right intentions
Yes I will be okay with that because I have a wonderful man that is even more excited about the baby than I am ☺️. I know it's not going to be easy, but we're not exactly financially stable as I want us to be. I want to spoil my baby and give it everything I can. I don't want to depend on people to support my family. I'm a very independent person. I'm not the type of person that can just ask family for some money because I don't have enough to pay bills or whatever. And i was raised to work for my money so government support is not on my list.
I understand that I really do. But are you going to be ok with leaving your baby while you go to basic and training for your job? Would you be ok with leaving your baby for months at a time if you go on a deployment? Do you have someone that you trust to take care of your child while your gone?
I know it's not, but it's not about me. All I can think about is my baby and hoping that it will have a good life. @kimberlynnn
@mommygreene, I got almost 2 years down out of my 5 year contract I don't even think I'm going to reenlist
@kfisher70, it's different when your visiting. I'm currently in the Navy I'm not saying don't join I'm just saying its not what you think it is.
Lol I agree with @kimberlynnn I've been in 10 years and I'm finally done
My dad was in the navy, I've been on the ship, been on a cruise, seen the beds, ate the ship food. I know that I loved growing up as a military brat, and I want my baby to grow up in a good life.
@kimberlynnn, if you're AD and have dependents, they get free Healthcare as well as long as it's prime. Even if they enroll in standard the co-pays and out of pocket payments are minimal. And met life dental is only like $11 a month, which is astronomically cheaper than any other insurances.
Thank you for your service, though!
