so I was in an car accident this morning and now I'm at the hospital on monitors and being told my baby boy has an irregular heartbeat. I'm scared to death!
Try not to stress too much, lots of babies have irregular heartbeats in utero but either grow out of it or are born without it completely!
@kayla23, @mimiz @firsttimemommy13, @kimberlyyyy, @lalamichelle0707 thank you ladies for prayers and well wishes. I really appreciate it. I'm still here and my contractions are all over the place but over all the Dr says everything looks good. This back pain is killing me though. lol
I'm sorry you were in an accident. Something to keep in mind, babies at his gestational age aren't always being monitored, so I don't think there's as much data on what's "normal" for their heartbeats and all that. When I was admitted at 28 weeks they told me my son basically had the same issues and I was on non stop 24/7 fetal monitoring and when he came out at 29 weeks he was ok. I really believe it's because they don't always monitor babies that early on a regular basis. Just breathe momma. You stressing out will stress baby out.
I was in a car accident in January. Scariest thing ever, all I cared about was if the baby was ok. They had us on the monitor for 5 hours and they kept losing his heartbeat so I was panicking. But then they explained that the monitor in L&D is for a bigger full term baby that can't move much that's why it was losing his hb and why it was showing as irregular. Almost 4 months later and we're both fine. Don't stress out more. I did contact a lawyer ASAP though since the other driver admitted she was on her phone texting and not paying attention to the road. Turned out she had two other at fault accidents for the same thing in less than a year so we have an open personal injury claim against her insurance until after he's born just in case something would come up.
