I took my son from Portland OR back home to Tacoma WA (also 3+ hour drive) when he was only a few weeks old and he slept pretty much the whole time. Had to stop the car once or twice to feed him but other than that he was content. You'll probably be fine.

that's up to you, it's what ever your gut tells you she's ready for. just use your mommy instincts!
