@sheka16, it's quite easy actually.... go in, they hook up your IV and ask you all the wonderful questions (weight at last appointment, allergies etc) then they shaved me (I hadn't been able to in weeks)... the anesthesiologist came in and talked to me, told me what would happen on his end, a nurse came in and said we will come get you at 7:45... they gave me the stuff to neutralize my stomach acid (even tho I hadn't eaten since the night before)... they came and got me and took me to the OR... they had me sit on the edge of the table to make giving my spinal easier.... once my Dr got there and was scrubbing in, they did the spinal; just a pinch and a slight burn with the numbing agent then I felt a tiny bit of pressure when they put the spinal in.... they went to lay me back on the table and my tush was already numb lol... then they inserted my catheter... the anesthesiologist told me to let him know if I felt nauseous or light headed during the surgery at all.... my Dr came in said he was sorry he was late (he sorta forgot about me, since his repeat c-sections are usually on Tuesday and Thursday and mine was scheduled on a Wednesday) and he put the paper curtain up and stuck the rest to my belly (it has a hole that fits over your belly).... surgery started at 8:20 my daughter was out at 8:26... they did press my belly towards my pelvis to get her out I assume, and that's when I felt light headed and nauseous so the anesthesiologist gave me a steroid to help.... once she was here my husband went with her and the nurse to the recovery room, they did my tubal and stitched me up.... they rolled me over and pulled the spinal out..... I went to recovery and was there with my baby girl, I didn't hold her right away since I got sick (the steroid and they jostling me around upset my stomach) but I held her 98%of the time in recovery, and they had me hold her when the wheeled me back to my room, the nurse placed her in her bassinet and I proceeded to throw up 2 more times.... the vomiting doesn't happen to everyone tho..... it's a scary thought having surgery, but it happens so quick that there is nothing to it mama
