okay so once you have the baby from my understanding it isn't your actual period it's just the remaining fluids that are coming out? I'm so confused so when do you actually get your period and when is it safe to have sex? obviously when you aren't bleeding but like 2 weeks after or?
@mommyhammond2016, I had a C-section do you think my healing would take longer? girl honestly when I was pregnant I didn't want to have sex at all like I wouldn't get turned on or nothing was pretty much forcing myself to please my hubby but now that I had baby i got my sex drive back and now I'm like hurry the hell up and heal body lol
the 6 weeks gives your body time to heal from the plecenta detaching it's basically an open wound that can get an infection via sex an what not so they say to be safe 6 weeks then you will get checked out by your doc at that time and get the go ahead for sex k have hear of people doing it earlier then that but not with drs blessings. it will be weird and a little painful the first time after birth I had to wait the full two months and honestly I didn't want him to touch me it's not like I just forgot what the fuck I went through being prego an labor haha it was traumatizing lol not bad but I didn't want to do it for a few months
6 weeks is the very very minimum, assuming you don't have a c section (then it's 8 weeks) but I highly doubt you're going to be up for sex that soon, your pelvic floor muscles are going to be very weak and take way longer to heal. also hormones I know a lot of people lose any desire for a few months after while they reregulate their hormones. you can get infection as well if you try anything too soon.
I didn't get a period until about 6 months later. I was strictly breast feeding. it's different for everyone. ask your doctor about it so you don't get worried if it doesn't come. but sex you should wait the 6 weeks so you heal properly
I exclusively breastfed and had a Mirana placed. I didn't have my period after my daughter was born for 13 months.
