@emily18234, yeah my fiances sister had hers till she was 6 and there's no way in hell I'm.letting that happen to my child so I need some way to be nice but still have her understand that she can't have it she's only 1 so its kinda difficult to explain things so she will understand and I also live in an apartment building so I can't just let her scream it out you know?

@fiona01, oh haha yeah this little girl was turning 3. Depending on the kind of paci you can cut them and they don't get the same satisfaction.

I worked for a family once that did a paci fairy and said that the paci Fairy was going to take the pacis to babies who need then since she is no longer a baby and doesn't need them and they gave her a pair of those little Cinderella shoes

When I was little my mom brought me to the garbage can with my pacis and told me big girls don't use pacis and told me if I was a big girl it's time to throw them away

@emily18234, I cut my daughters and sat it on her bed and when she went and grabbed to put in her mouth she did that about 3 times and looked at me and I said oooh ooooh no more pack and she threw it away herself and never looked back

she can't not sleep forever. trust me. my mom never took the Paci from me and I transferred to my thumb and that became hundreds in dental bills and years and years of orthodontic treatment. my teeth still aren't close to straight.

we tried that once but she won't sleep without it. we got her down to only naps and bedtimes but she just stuck 3 of them in the heater in her room and they are completely melted it could have burned my house down . I need to get her off them asap! she's just so stubborn with them @emily18234

that's what we have been doing but its not working she still wants it :/ but she can't have it anymore because I just found 3 of them stuck in her heater in her room and it could have set my house on fire so I definitely need to get her off them asap. @marleas.mommy

I call it rip the bandaid off. take it, throw it away, and never look back

I'd say only give it to her for naps and bedtime and then eventually only bedtime and then hopefully she won't want it at all
