So with my first son I had to use a nipple shield, and I never could get him to latch without it. This time I'm really hoping I don't have to use one. Any other mommas have to use a nipple shield the first time but not the second time? And we're you ever able to get them to latch normally?

I needed one cause my first wouldn't latch, my 2nd latched perfectly 10 minutes after she was born.

Every baby is different. I had inverted nipples with my first born and not even nipple shields helped, with my second he was born at 29 weeks but when I was able to put him to breast he latched on as well as he could for being tiny. I think there's a chance you won't need the nipple shield, but Jayne you can have one for just in case.
