We are military too @hayzie14 but don't have tricare. I had it when I was on my parent's insurance.

my insurance is covering everything including the dilevery. the only thing I pay for is my labs which is nothing my specialty visits since I'm high risk which is a 40$ copay but I won't have to start doing that until my 20 week appointment and then once a month after that for growth scans.

Thank god for Tricare!! I have all my babies and doctors appointments and breast pumps, etc. for free!! I never realized how much having a baby was! Holy moly!! Benefits of being a military family, I guess! Good luck! Hope it's not too much of a wallet breaker! 😬 baby will be worth it though :)

I actually didn't have to pay anything with my insurance.. I also have bc/bs. I gave birth in nov, regular vaginal birth with epidural... The bill before insurance was $28k... I paid nothing of that. But a lot of insurance plans require you to pay 20% which is where the originally 4K out of pocket came from that I told you about earlier.

I had 2 insurances with my first and didn't pay anything. I worked for insurance agency and most cover a good chunk..of course there are those odd things. I think state insurances cover even more but not sure

That's what I'm saying maybe $80 after if that @godsjoi . I have copay $20 for first visit them all covered under pregnancy benefit. depends if you have deductible plan. With two plans what one doesn't cover other should cover all or most

Even after delivering. I basically go have a baby stay for a few days then go home...no bill @godsjoi

You can also check your insurances website and see what they're prenatal care and birthing coverage is. See what they cover and what you have to pay, if anything at all.

I paid only $50 total out of the entire $10,000+.

@godsjoi, if you have 2 insurances might not cost much. I think with only 1 insurance I pd like $80max besides copays for sonogram early on

I heard the average vaginal birth with insurance is about $4K
