My son uses me as a pacifier. Really hope I'm not creating a bad habit 😕
No worries! The transition may be hard down the road when you go to work, but remember the comfort of breastfeeding won't be the ONLY thing he misses and cries about. He will miss everything about you, so there's really nothing that will make it better besides lots of cuddles from dad, maybe a shirt that smells like you, pumped breast milk, possibly a pacifier so he can suckle for comfort....only time will really make it easier though! Eventually he'll get the hint that you will be away for a while each day, although he'll prob be upset about it, it will get easier for dad lol
Thank you!!!! 💗 I was worried of creating a bad habit for when it's time for me to go back to work, I don't want him to give daddy a hard time lol. Thanks so much :-)
You're not, don't worry! It is COMPLETELY normal! Pacifiers are made to immitate comfort suckling that they naturally do at the breast. You are NOT a pacifier, the pacifier is a dummy of YOU! Breastfed babies naturally grow out of needing to comfort suckle and they will self wean from the breast, whereas pacifiers CAN become a sort of addiction to babies and can take YEARS to break them of the habit....just keep up the good work, and remember a baby can NEVER be spoiled with too much love, they can only be spoiled with material things. A baby who is well loved will also grow up to be MORE confident, independent AND emotionally stable! Keep it up, mama!!!!
Thanks, I try 😊 @mommastone
