so this is probably a dumb question but when people say they "Co sleep" with their baby, does that mean the baby sleeps in bed with you? and if so, doesn't that make you nervous?

I love my space so we don't cosleep lol BUT I do cosleep with my 9 year old. I was a single mom new at the game so he slept with me so I could just feed him right then and there.

Here's one of the co sleeping bassinets that previous poster mentioned. I will say though my doctor got all technical with me and told me the correct term is "bed sharing" if baby is actually in bed with you. When they are in the same room in a different bed its co sleeping. But who cares lol

not necessarily. it could mean the baby sleeps in their room.

I've been co-sleeping since day 1 and of course there are times when I'm nervous, but for me I feel like she's safer next to me rather then far away.

It petrifies me just thinking about co sleeping. They have pretty cool co sleeper baskets you can put in your bed though if it is something you're interested in. Also the arms reach sleeper bassinets but they are sooooo expensive.

at first i was so nervous. and i had her in a bassinet but shes tobheavy for it now so she co sleeps. i think shes still to little to sleep in her crib in the other room. but i literally snuggle up with her right beside me and im not a heavy sleep and i dont move in my sleep so its easier. especially with late night feedings. she eats and we go back to sleep. easy. and she sleeps longer that way than alone. which is better for me cause i dont gotta get up. its actually very rewarding. and its proven to be very benificial for there development.

Yes, some consider a bassinet next to the bed or in the bed as co-sleeping as well. I have done this since my now almost 4 year old was a newborn. It did not make me nervous, it's completely natural and there have been studies to prove it may actually be safer. I just know what worked for us, and that was snuggling all night. We both got more sleep this way. I also didn't have a partner in bed with us, so that eased my mind as well.
