When my waters broke. I had 3/4 showers and a bath before I went to the hospital...this was before my contractions were regular and then after they got regular. I also shaved :) x

my waters leaked over about 3 hours, and once you're contracting you really don't care about anything lol sweat was dripping off me and blood and mess everywhere and all I could think of was the pain. however if you feel up to it I can't see it being a bad thing at all :D should help speed up the labour too x

It happened with my first and your allowed a bath or shower but your not allowed to use any shower gel or bubble bath or shampoo and conditioner etc.... it's better to have a bath cos it helps relax you and helps to take a tiny bit of the pain away if your contracting x

Yh they say that...but when your waters go and you get in the birthing pool it's the same principle...I think each to their own I know some that have gotten in the bath and others have showered, I know that in each case the mothers and babies were both fine but yh a shower will defo be ok, I'd defo clean up just so I felt better in myself xx

You can have a bath bab, just warm not hot. If you give birth in a bath they don't like you staying in too long after baby because there is risk of infection. Whichever you prefer, I'd quite like to do a sanctuary salt scrub before I go into hospital. Can't bear the thought of not being clean before I go in! xXx

@mummywarwick, @nadsx316 I have been told you are not suppose to have a bath as that could cause infections.. so I was wondering if a shower would be ok. I got mixed stories. I would like to be fresh even if it would last like 5min haha xx

I've read it's a good thing to do to help you relax and nice to go to hospital fresh as a daisy! Treat yourself to a fancy shower gel too, add to the calmness xXx

Yes I would if mine went at home, I just prefer to feel fresh...plus you might find it relaxing, I freelance as a doula for my friends and the last one I helped she wanted to have a bath after her waters went, she did and by the time I got there she was out so I helped her get ready and then we went to the hospital xx
