So Connor is almost 5 months old and he has a flat spot on his head, he sleeps on his back but I put him a one of those things were it like keeps him on his back so he doesn't roll. I have him sleeping in a pack and play, would it be safe to let him sleep on his tummy or not yet? I just don't want his head to end up being super flat.

No you didn't sound bossy at all, no worries! But his doctor has addressed his head and told me more tummy time and sitting up right and what not, so I guess we just gotta do that! Thanks for your input :) @hellosweetie

Sorry if I sounded a bit on the bossy side lol I'm no expert, but everything I've read says that to reduce flat heat, just rotate his head side to side and give lots of tummy and/or upright time! If his doctor hasn't showed concern for it yet, I'm sure it will be fine and round out, and you are doing a great job!!! My girl didn't get flat head cuz she's always been very active, but she had a horrible bald spot lol it's filling in nice now, but the key was just letting her sit up, tummy time, wrapping her on me when on the go, etc....and my other friend's baby had real bad flat head recently and the doctor was gonna suggest a helmet if it got worse, but more tummy time did the trick and so far so good, hasn't needed a corrective helmet! You're a great mom, follow your instincts! If it makes you nervous or gives you second thoughts, chances are you are right!

@hellosweetie, I'm kinda glad you put wrote that, I was thinking twice about putting him on his stomach. Plus he's not a huge fan of being on his stomach, he only sleeps on his back and that's how he's comfortable. I just don't want his flat spit to be any worse than what it already is 😕

The key to getting rid of flat head is to keep him out of any kind of "bucket seat" during the day, and give him tummy time several times a day for as long as he'll tolerate it. It isn't a good idea to set him on his tummy to sleep, it's always best to follow SIDS safety guidelines, I have a friend who's baby died of SIDS so it's close to home for me, please follow the guidelines of back to sleep! However, you can turn his head to the left or right, do not put ANYTHING in the bed with him, if he rolls by himself in his sleep that's okay, that is natural development and if he can do it, he will do it safely, just keep an eye on him as usual of course. This is just the best advice I have, I may sound like a worry wort but like I said, SIDS is too close to home for me and I would never even risk it. My daughter is 6 months old, can roll, crawl, sit and pull herself to a stand but I still follow "back to sleep" and no extras in her bed....

I used to turn kylers head because her doctor said she start rates getting a flat spot. Every so often I would change which way her head was facing when she slept or just laid down

What helped me a lot was letting sleeping on tummy during nap time

@tatiananoelani, okay cool good to know! @laylamommy I feel like I'll be nervous at first because of it but he's really good at rolling onto his back if he needs to!

My in laws say to turn the baby every now and then from his tummy to his back just make sure there's not a blanket up by his face or any sort of loose cloth that can potentially cover his face while sleeping

My daughter was sleeping on her stomach by 5 months bc she was able to roll. I still would check on her through out the night until I felt a little more comfortable with her being on her tummy.

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

So my ex went to court and filed for visitation rights. I was served last week. I am not comfortable with our daughter being around him alone nor his mother which he lives with. I have proof of him asking me to take his drug test for his job for him in text messages and him texting me he was too high to drive and get our daughter milk. Is that enough to show the judge? As far as his mother she watches his son quite often and told us she gives him nighttime medicine if she has problems getting him to go to sleep at night. (Claims she did it with my ex when he was little too) And she FaceTimed us once mid day while taking his son back to his mother, she gave him night time medicine bc she didn’t want him talking the whole ride and wanted him to sleep. He was so out of it. It just scares me to leave her alone with them.
