I did the same thing your going in to do I went in at midnight got the meds to ripen my cervix the rest of the way and then around 5 am I got pitocin to bring the contractions stronger and get me dilating I was already to 4cm by 5am so I got the epidural are 6:30 or so and ended up getting another one around 8 or 9 bc I was still hurting bad and it didn't numb my fully the 2nd did great and I slept until an hour before I had her. It all happened pretty quickly for me I was only I labor for 12 hrs and had her at 12:22pm :) good luck you'll do great just stay calm and tell them exactly what you want to happen! That's their job :)

@wilson123, you don't have to lay flat per se, just lying down is fine.

I was nervous about the epidural slowing things down too but the contractions were so bad and practically constant. but everything continued to go smoothly and I was so much more comfortable and relaxed afterwards

thank you @wyatts_mommy_0106 maybe not but I feel like she might try to come on her due date @kmhicksyy oh gosh it kills me to lay flat right now let alone lay for an hr. I'm terrified if I get an epidural it will slow everything down or I'll stress my body an have to have a c section 😰

When do you go in? For mine, I went in around midnight, got the first dose of cervidil (had to lay down for an hr after each one), then got the second one 4 hrs later. First one started contractions pretty quickly, but I was still only about a 2-3 that next morning. OB broke my water, started the pitocin around 9, and I had him at 2:50 pm. I ended up getting an epidural around 12:30-12:45 (didn't fully work, but got a little relief briefly before I pushed). Hope all goes well for you!!

I went in at 730pm , they put cervidil on my cervix to ripen it and I had to lay flat for one hour. I started having some mildly painful contractions overnight. 12 hours later my doctor checked for progress, I had dilated from 1cm to 3cm. they started pitocin at 8am, and my contractions weren't really bad until they broke my water at like 330pm. I got the epidural at 4pm and had my baby at 645pm. it was not a bad experience whatsoever. good luck mama!❤

my water broke and I had to be induced the rest of the way. your induction will probably be different but mine I went to the hospital got a room.in L&D the Dr on duty check me I was dilated to a 1 and 80% effaced so they inserted a cervix balloon in my cervix to help me dilate after that they put my iv in started my pitcon and put a cathedral in me once my contractions started hitting hard they gave me meds for the pain I went to sleep and I was woken by the pain of my contractions and my cervix balloon came out which meant I was at a 6&1/2 and they monitored me until I was at a 10 and since my contractions was like a min a part lasting a min or so they cut off my pitcon until it was time to push they had to start it again cause I couldn't feel my contractions in order to push
