My son is one & im trying to get him in his bed...any advice?

I sit next to my step daughters bed she is almost 18 months...and I comfort her and run my fingers through her hair till she falls asleep, but I don't let her leave the bed

they will fight sleep and the covers forever but they eventually fall asleep
