I just want to be able to produce more milk for my baby.. I feel so bad that I'm having to supplement formula!
thanks @ella1007 I really felt like I was being attacked for doing what's best for my baby.. I'm not going to let her go hungry
@rhamilton6615, don't feel bad! I'm doing the same thing. She was hungry and losing weight. I hate using formula but I had to. Follow your mommy instincts!
Ok well obviously I shouldn't have posted anything because I feel like I've been completely attacked and judged for giving my baby what I think she needed..
My baby has lip tie. Latching was difficult in the beginning but progressed so well. Also how much you pump doesn't have anything with how much the baby could get out.
You have done all you can! Once it's fix I am sure you can just breastfeed. :) I am confidant actually. You're doing good!
She has a posterior lip and tongue tie so she's not really able to latch she has surgery on the 29th to correct it I pump and mix formula I've talked to lactation and peds about it she's gaining weight.. she's healthy. I drink mothers milk I drink water j do everything I'm supposed to... @mommastone
Check out Kellymom online! It's all about breastfeeding concerns and info.
Has she gained her weight back from birth? Pumping is not accurate on how much you make. Peds aren't always educated in breastfeeding! Are you only pumping? Have you tried lactation teas or oatmeal to bring your supply up? Drink a lot of water and eat eat eat! The more you supplement, the more your supply with whither.
my baby eats 2 oz every 3 hours I pump every 2 hours I'm only making 1 oz everytime j pump... I've talked to her pediatrician and she told me to continue what I'm doing... @junesmommy15 @kmally
Why do you feel you're not producing enough? Is baby not having enough wet/dirty diapers or losing significant amounts of weight? Also, are you exclusively pumping, breastfeeding, or both?
I believe you have enough. The baby's stomach is not even as big as a avocado at that age. They get full fast. If your baby is constantly acting hungry after feedings, her stomach may be hurting and she wants to comfort feed. How much are you giving her? Also she's probably going through a growth spurt. Newborns eat very often.
Because I don't produce enough to feed her.. I do whatever I produce and the rest with formula
@rhamilton6615, I understand. Even the nurses at the hospital and mommy and me appt gave me a hard time about supplementing formula and giving her a pacifier. I'm just to the point I don't care what anyone thinks! It's your baby so do what you feel is best. Good luck!
