Who on here agrees that a family cannot survive on $14 an hour??? And that he should be looking for something better since we are having a child??

I am a single mom of 2 boys and a little girl on the way. I support my family on a lot less than 14 bucks an hour. I go without so my kids can thrive. I would love to make that kind of money.

$14.. shit I would love to make that much! I'm preparing to be a single mother, already living on my own and I make $8.50 an hour. I'm on probation and with all the things I have to do every week its VERY hard to find a better paying job, while still working on a diploma. (Dropped out for a traveling job before school ended). I've done the math and I can survive off of this, so I think you'll be fine..

@amberhott16, there are definitely ppl who raise kids with a lot less. I see your point you have bills and a custom lifestyle that's fit for your family. But believe me it can be done and done well.

@sarahdd16, that's not the point, the point is he can have a way in to a better job because is dad has been offering the iron working job to him for the past year and he makes up an excuse not to do it!!

Umm if you budget correctly and live within your means you can live on 14 an hour. Are you working? Maybe you can try for benefits. If he likes his job and thinks he can grow within the company you should support him as his woman and make things work.

I only make 13 and I'm a single mom of soon to be 3. it's definitly hard .. I'm going to have to get child care assistance and housing assistance ... but I'm doing what I can. I have a good job and work full time. sometimes it's just hard to find better paying jobs ....the one I have was def a blessing. better to have some kind of job them none.

@polkadotcutie, you'd think having our son on the way he would snap the fuck out of it and grow up and start looking for something better so that he can stop bitching that we are behind but uhm I bust my ass at my job n my half of the bills are always paid on time, if he didn't spend money on useless shit like alcohol every day he's off then maybe he wouldn't be behind.

He should try harder. If not for you or himself for his unborn child. Even if he like his job it doesn't matter. Things have to get paid. I could enjoy being a cashier McDonald's but if it's not paying my bills I'd better start looking elsewhere. He needs to get motivated.

My boyfriend was making $14.50 per hour at his last job, we actually did okay. Granted we didn't have a baby then so I'm sure my opinion would be different

Hm oh my gosh where do you guys live with 25/hr. Lol I would consider 15/hr a lot. I didn't go to college and only have a high school diploma, but still...

I mean yeah it would be ideal to be making more, but where I'm at minimum wage is 7.25. 14/hour is so much better than that... My babies father doesn't even have a job SMH I agree he should be looking for something better if that is what you guys decide, but it could be waaaaay worse.

I told him he should try iron working because they could make up to $35 an hour and he's like "I like my job, we are fine" but yet bitches that rent isn't gonna be paid on time and we can't pay our bills, hmmmm @polkadotcutie
