Ladies I need a little help . I really want to name my son Elian , however I dont want it to be pronounced the wrong way . So im asking would you spell out the way you would pronunciate it if you were to see the name ? If that makes sense . I really dont want to be aggravated everytime a doctor may call or in the future (school or whatever ) because the last name is already enough . Thankyou all so much
@evococa, yeah , well girl names seem a whole lot easier to me but boy names are so hard .. Especially for something Im looking for spanish/english
Ooh I know the struggle haha. We've been debating names as soon as we found out and it's soooo hard!
@evococa, no I dont 😏 . He is white / hispanic so I kindof wanted something that sounds well in english and spanish . I happen to come across this one several weeks ago and it just wont get out of my mind . Ive looked and looked for names & every name I find it seems someone we know has .
Hmm, well I think that spelling works well. Did you have others in mind?
Yeah @evococa thats my intention . I know it will be mispronounced some but I just dont want an overload
I read it as EL-ee-un (: if that's your intention I think it's perfect as is. But a lot of names will be mispronounced sadly. My son is Xander but some people say X-ander instead of Zander. /shrug
Then I think the spelling is fine. You'll always have people that will mess it up though. My name is Dawna, pronounced like Donna, and I can't tell you how many times I've been called Dawana lol
Yeah, I agree. It was so hard naming our son. There's just not that many boy names that I like. But it definitely makes it even more difficult finding one that works in two cultures/languages.
