Locking your doors We are having a discussion on one of my birth boards from my older kids about locking doors and security alarms. There are many of us (me included) who do not lock our doors at home (I actually don't even have a deadbolt on my house and we don't lock it when we leave either), and others who think that's totally weird. So what do you do? Do you lock your doors? Do you think it's weird that people don't?
the amount of women who are clueless about their own anatomy is so sad and shocking. a lot of the women are older than me and have more children then I do 😳 now I understand that everyone has their own opinion on the topic and grown adults can do whatever they want with their bodies but to deny facts and make up false statements about your own anatomy when it comes to your unborn child is just so disappointing. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=516754249189660&id=100025652680318 so yes ima go hard in the comments because unborn babies are involved!
Advice please ? Long story... I'm getting married in April we decided no kids other than our own two and my niece And nephew as would end up more kids that adults and it would Cost so much more plus wanted parents to have a day/night to enjoy themselves. Anyway my "maid of honor" ( hasn't done much to help but cause me stress) has 5 kids her youngest will be around 5 months old she's breastfeeding him and keeps telling me she is gonna try and express ect... but I know she has no intentions of doing that and I worry she's gonna put me on the spot the day before and say he won't take a bottle (cos she wouldn't have tried) so she either can't come or has to bring him. I'm spending a lot of money for her dress, hair make up food ect... so deffo don't wanna be let down. But it's not just her that's got kids the ushers have kids and we said no kids. Now I know it's different as she's feeding him but I dunno what to do!? Do I say she can bring him (if my oh agrees too) or do I say she can't. This all sounds so awful when I read it but there will be two other guests that will have newer baby's than that coming and they arnt bringing them. The biggest thing is she's just not talking to me about any of this she's ignoring my messages and not making contact with me. But she's spoken to a friend about it who told her to talk to me and be honest about it all! Torn tbh as she's already not coming on my hen but still hasn't told me this!!! If she just came to me and said look I'm feeding my baby I don't wanna bottle feed him so either he comes or I can't I'd be happier she's being honest rather than dragging it out making out she gonna try and express. I don't expect her to I said it's down to her it's her baby. May I add that we fell out a while ago as she wasn't bothering with me ect any way we made up and I asked her be part of the wedding again so she could have said then I can but il have a baby then, but she didn't she just said it will be fine il sort out. So stressed ?
Do we have to talk politics on here 🙄

@zoe662, good because I guess before they had to stick a huge needle in your belly to do the testing and it carried chances of miscarriage. And A big reason they do it is to give people an option to abort and I'm not doing that even if this baby has 5 heads so the test for me is only to give me peace of mind or to mentally prepare myself

@soontobemomof4, I might I just hate to bother them. But I don't want them to have this test all set up for me and me be like no no no I'm good bye bye

I declined at first too I had it done when I was around 12 weeks it's called a sequential genetic screening..it just gives you the probability of a defect. they still do amniocentesis usually for older women or if defects run in your family

@liz41395, you are correct, it's just blood from you girl! They do it at 10 weeks, just a normal blood draw though. And yes that's the same one you can find out the gender with as well! It's the Down syndrome and chromosomal tests

they do a test called an amniosentisis i probably spelled that wrong.they do take a needle through the uterus to collect amniotic fluid, but thats optional if the genetic blood draw comes back abnormal.i had it with my first son.

my sequential screening didn't show me gender but yours may! my doctor said it wasn't something they found necessary to do. but as the other mommies have stated it's blood from you!:)

@brittneylove, okay so the regular genetic blood draw but if they found something they would want to do the amnio and I could just tell them no.

it's a regular blood draw they take from your arm and since baby shares the same blood as you they test your blood and send the results to your ob

If you're lucky, they might just do a finger prick for the blood! They drew blood from me at 9 weeks at the office but then at the screening it was only a finger prick and the sono. Baby isn't developed enough to determine gender. They like to do the sono between 11-13 weeks I believe. Also congrats on baby! (:
