I have the glucose test tomorrow morning I don't know what I'm not supposed to eat HELP!!!
@cass_lynne, very true my doc told me no carbs so IDK but I don't wanna hurt my baby or myself I usually don't eat right when I get up anyway I'll be OK I'll just drink water
@kcamps, I've heard of that too I'm just going to cut back on sweets tonight and don't eat before I go I'll drink water and eat afterwards cause if I have to come back for a 3 hour test I'll die lol
Every place must be different because where I live you can eat whatever you want before the glucose test.
I was pretty scared too. But I would of rather known then and got treated than not know and hurt my baby or I.
Well I mean that's what my doctor told me, is you aren't allowed to eat anything after midnight if you go in the morning. My sister in law had hers and she had her normal breakfast and that actually screwed with her results. She had to go back to the 3 hour glucose test and it came back normal.
@cass_lynne, OK makes sense thank you I've been going crazy but like you were saying you don't false results
You'd rather find out if you truly are diabetic than try to change the results. Because then they can treat you and help you and your baby. If you try to change the results they may miss something that's important.
I ate what I normally eat and went to Dunkin donuts for an iced tea. I still got negative results. It's not based on what you just recently eat it's based on all the glucose in your body.
@kcamps, I was thinking the same thing since our bodies fast over night @cass_lynne I thought that too but doc told me not to eat carbs which is kinda impossible
Free foods (without carbs or sugars) are meat and cheese, water, unsweetened tea. Carbs break down into sugars
