what does everyone think about the flu shot? I'm 33 almost 34 weeks and I don't normally get the flu shot but now that I'm pregnant should I?
@maybabyboy, my doctor always says all those people who have never actually had it...I get theirs lol my dad and I are prone to it for some reason and twice I was hospitalized for what it looked like was symptoms of pneumonia. Almost had to discharge from college that time. I wouldn't wish it on anyone
Like @boenischpartyof5 said, most people THINK they get the flu after they get the shot, but that is not the real flu. the real flu knocks you on your butt for a week or more, and puts so many people in the hospital every year. and it kills the young and elderly. a large chunk of the population has never actually had the flu, they think they have, but aren't really sure, because they really just had a bad cold. you KNOW the flu when you get it, and you do not want to get it when you're pregnant.
I have two weeks to decide to get it or not!!! thank y'all for y'alls input
I get the flu if I don't get the shot and it lands me in the hospital, so I got mine. I will say that most people who get the shot and say that they get the flu anyway don't really get the flu. A cold can have flu like symptoms and that's typically what you get after the shot; but if test for the actual flu, it will come out negative
Flu season has just started in February. We have so many people at the hospital that have the flu. It's the type B flu that's going around. I have to get to the shot for work. I haven't gotten the flu this season. If you can find the flu shot, I would get it.
My doctor said the flu season has lasted in to February and March
I went to the doctor today and she said that she personally would get it but I stopped getting it because I would get the flu when I got it
I don't even know if you could find one this time of year... but the flu can be very dangerous for pregnant women, if you have no immunity to it (meaning if you don't get the shot) then you could easily end up hospitalized for it.
My doctor made me get mine since I hadn't had mine in many years. Personally, I don't see the point and I'm pretty sure I had a reaction to it.
honestly you probably don't even need it anymore flu season is over pretty much. I wouldn't get it at this point
My doctor also recommended me getting the flu shot while pregnant ? I'm not sure if I want to or if i should ? It's all scary to me !! What do you ladies think ? Did you get the flu shot while pregnant ? Are there any risks? Or should I wait ? I'm so scared of taking anything while pregnant , much less getting this shot.. He said it isn't mandatory , just recommended.
Flu shot
Debating getting the flu shot... I have a 2 year old in daycare and I'm a teacher, but I read you can still get the flu even with the shot, what do your OBs say?
How many moms are against the flu shot ? I haven't got it and my son hasn't either and I'm really not planning to. But so far an infant died already here in California because of the flu. So I'm scared
Flu shots for baby
Anyone having baby take the flu shot? Why or why not? Pediatrician recommended it but I'm not sure.
My friend just told me that once you have your baby they get a hepatitis b shot and flu shot automatically. I don't know how I feel about the flu shot.🤔
I've always found the flu shot to be unnecessary. I haven't had the flu shot in years and have never had the flu. *knocks on wood*
